God called Moses up to Mount Sinai. There He taught Moses the Torah. He also taught him what will happen after the people leave Mount Sinai.
Golden Calf
Shortly after receiving the Torah, the Jewish people sinned by making a Golden Calf. Moses prayed and eventually God accepted his prayers.

After the sin of the Golden Calf, God told Moses that he was going to destroy the Jewish people.
After Moses destroyed the Golden Calf he then went back up to Har Sinai to plead for the people (Exodus 32:30-32).
